Unable to update fastlane to 2.238.0 #30152

Hello, we have update_fastlane on before_all but when we try to bump from 2.234.0 to 2.238.0, we need to setup somethings?

Please update using `bundle update fastlane`

I think update_fastlane is just kinda not great. It probably can't reload the gem/spec list as cleanly as you expect. The upgraded version probably needs rbs as a runtime dep and the load/reload of it live probably has issues.

I only use bundler, so not very knowledgeable on this install path. Maybe you can do like gem install rbs to trick it

For give more inforamtiond :

When i try update_fastlane i got this error;
When i try bundle update fastlane i have this message (maybe i need to bump my gemfile) Bundler attempted to update fastlane but its version stayed the same

After :

I have try to install rbs with gem install rbs
And i have update gem with gem update --system 4.0.18

Now i have :

/opt/homebrew/lib/ruby/site_ruby/3.3.0/rubygems/installer.rb:308:in `rescue in install': [!] You don't have write permissions for the /opt/homebrew/lib/ruby/gems/3.3.0/gems/terminal-table-4.0.0/.github/dependabot.yml directory. (Gem::FilePermissionError)

So, i run this :

sudo chown -R $(whoami) /opt/homebrew/lib/ruby/gems/3.3.0
and i'm come back to cannot load such file -- rbs (LoadError)

Yep apologies. Out of my league here. I just did bundle update in my projects and moved to 2.238.0 with no issue.

No problem, thanks you for the help!

After test.. This version worked on CI even if we not have gemfile updates (so it's updated to 2.238 but gemfile.lock is 2.228).

I plan to check local configuration in September when i have time. For now, i have disable update_fastlane for avoid to have updates if least it's not working; and gonna check with others developers local enviroment for this if we have the same issue or if mine miss somethings.
